From March 10th - 17th I experienced my third OWU El Salvador Spring Break Mission Week and once again it was
amazing! The difference was this year is I planned and prepped for the team's visit from Love & Hope, instead of as a staff advisor.

From the moment the team stepped out of the airport late Saturday night they accepted me as one of their own. I shared a bedroom with the OWU ladies, drove the team around town and spent as much time with them as my administrative duties permitted.

While they were here, the team painted our office, built a better pen for our chickens (this makes me
really happy!), helped with Sunday school, served a meal and cleared land at a future playground at Platanillo. You can see pictures and read more about these projects on the
Love & Hope blog.

I am grateful for this team's open minds, hands, hearts, spirits and willingness serve in any possible way. They blessed us with overflowing love, joy, compassion and exuberance and for me their visit was a little taste of home. And, as an added bonus, they brought me presents (Double Stuf Oreos, Thin Mints, candy, Wheat Thins...do you see a pattern?)! But what I appreciated most was their presence, smiles, laughs and hugs.

Muchas gracias Bob, Lisa, Rachel, Megan, Mimi, Erik, Sam, Ellen, Linh and Brad! And thanks to the
Ohio Wesleyan University Chaplain's Office for supporting this team, and therefore Love & Hope, for the past seven years. We look forward to seeing the team next March!
